Vocational Baccalaureate in Canine and Feline Breeding on an ERASMUS+ internship in Barcelona

Discover the ERASMUS Experience: Vocational Training in Canine and Feline Breeding in Barcelona

At Espamob, we are committed to supporting you in realizing your ERASMUS+ mobility projects. We take pride in being able to meet the needs and expectations of any training, regardless of its specialty. Recently, we had the opportunity to organize a three-week internship in Barcelona for young students in the Vocational Baccalaureate in Canine and Feline Breeding as part of the ERASMUS+ program.

The Vocational Baccalaureate in Canine and Feline Breeding in Brief

The Vocational Baccalaureate (Bac Pro) in Canine and Feline Breeding is a professional training program specialized in the breeding and management of dogs and cats. This training aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in various contexts related to pets, such as breeding facilities, shelters, kennels, veterinary clinics, or training centers.

Immerse Yourself in Action in Barcelona with ERASMUS

For three weeks, a group of young people from a French school had the unique opportunity to discover the world of canine and feline breeding from a new perspective, in the heart of the vibrant city of Barcelona.

Their stay in Spain offered them a unique opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and develop new skills within renowned shelters in the region. They were thrown into action upon arrival, actively participating in various tasks necessary for the well-being of the animals housed in these shelters.

Examples of tasks include:

  • Walking the animals
  • Feeding them
  • Providing care
  • Maintaining living spaces
  • Desensitization
  • Petting, grooming, playing with the dogs/cats

Beyond the practical aspects, this foreign experience allowed them to develop intercultural skills by working alongside Spanish volunteers and professionals, exchanging ideas and work methods. They also had the opportunity to explore Barcelona’s rich culture during their free time, thus expanding their horizons and understanding of the world.

At the end of their stay, these young people left with an enriched perspective on canine and feline breeding, as well as on the challenges and rewards associated with animal protection and welfare. Their experience in Barcelona will remain etched in their memory as a unique adventure that shaped their worldview and strengthened their commitment to the animal cause.

The Benefits of Erasmus International Mobility

This experience is not limited to just acquiring technical skills. It also offers participants the opportunity to discover a new culture, improve their language skills, and develop self-confidence. One of the key benefits of international mobility lies in the exploration of a new culture. Living in a foreign country allows young people to immerse themselves in its traditions, way of life, values, and social norms. This immersion promotes open-mindedness, a quality essential for future professionals.

Our Commitment to Erasmus International Mobility

At Espamob, we are convinced of the crucial importance of international experiences and openness to new opportunities. That’s why we strongly encourage institutions to support young people in their quest for professional and personal development by offering them international mobility opportunities such as this internship in Barcelona.
